The preseason Big 12 standings poll was released today and the Red Raiders were picked to finish only above the Kansas Jayhawks. In 2019, Texas Tech was predicted to finish as the 7th best team in the conference.
The preseason poll is voted on by media members within the Big 12. Oklahoma was projected to finish first with 80 1st place votes. The only other schools to receive 1st place votes were Oklahoma State (6) and Texas (4).
Texas Tech is scheduled (as of now), to kick off their season in El Paso against the UTEP Miners on September 5th at 7 p.m.
