Riko Jeffers, a senior linebacker for Texas Tech and Garland, TX native, has been named to the most prestigious linebacker award watch list in the country, the Butkus Award.
Jeffers, has been a staple for the Texas Tech defense in his three seasons as a Red Raider. In his time in the 806, Riko has 169 tackles to go along with 16.5 tackles for loss.
Riko is taking over the role of lead middle linebacker for the Red Raiders after Jordyn Brooks was drafted in the 1st round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Jeffers will welcome two transfers to the linebacking core in Krishon Merriweather (Garden City CC) & Brandon Bouyer-Randle (Michigan State).
