The Red Raiders came out quick in the first half with a huge 26-4 run. By halftime the lead was 28. Coach Beard let off the throttle some as none of the Red Raiders starters played more than 8 minutes in the second half and TTU books a 84-52 home win.
Mac McClung (18 PTS) lead the game in points while teammates Marcus Santos Silva (12 PTS) and Terrence Shannon Jr. (10 PTS) also got into double digits. All three players reached at least 10 points in both games this season. Santos-Silva has once again led the game in rebounds (9) falling one short of a second double-double.
Texas Tech shot above 50% from the field and 40% from 3 for the second straight game. Texas Tech’s roster has more depth than ever before, it seems as if almost every player can knock down their shots or defend man on man. Looking forward Texas Tech needs to improve on guarding the corner 3s and bailout passing in the paint as that has been a week point over the past 2 games, with that being said they still won both games by over 30 points.
Texas Tech will be back in action Sunday at 4:30 PM against #17 Houston at The Dickies Arena in Ft. Worth.

No doubt the Red Raiders would have won easily by 50 points in both games if Beard had not chose to get everyone plenty of playing time all spread around. That will mean a lot down the road when those players are called upon, with even better results because of Beards insight and special coaching abilities. I love the team chemistry no matter who is on the floor. By conference time, this team should be a very well-oiled machine.
