Last Monday, St. Johns announced they had dropped out of their scheduled contest with Texas Tech. Texas Tech, however, having 0 positive cases on the team, decided to fill the open spot. This Friday night Troy will come to Lubbock hoping to start building their NCAA Tournament resume, while Texas Tech looks to bounce back after a tough loss last week to now #10 Houston.
Texas Tech comes into the game with one less player on the roster than they did against Houston with Forward Joel Ntambwe leaving the program but the good news for the Red Raiders in this year’s squad has a lot more depth than last years. Tyreek Smith could pick up Joel’s minutes tonight or possibly Vlad Goldin could make his first appearance as a Red Raider as he has been dealing with a wrist injury during the first 3 games. Mac McClung should be the leading scorer again tonight but I expect the red raiders to work on shooting as that was not a great sight in the Houston game shooting just 22% percent from 3.
Troy heads into Lubbock also coming off a loss to West Carolina University. During that game, Troy shot a good 40% from three, the problem for Troy is they shot only 38% from the field. They will need to improve the shooting if they hope to stay on pace with Texas Tech. Find out how to catch all the action below:
