Texas Tech will play its 2nd toughest opponent of the season to date when they tip-off against fellow West Texas team Abilene Christian University.
Side Note: Throwback Jerseys today.
Abilene is led by their senior center Kolton Kohl who averages around 17 points and 6 rebounds per game. Kolton will see if he can have continued success against Marcos Santos-Silva and the Red Raiders #1 Defense (Kenpom). Texas Tech clearly has the edge at the 1 & 2 positions even with Kevin McCullar still out (ankle), but once you get into the frontcourt the matchups get more interesting as ACUs big men lead them in scoring.
Overall, even though this is TTUs second-best opponent to date I don’t expect this game to be competitive outside of the first half has, Coach Beard and the Red Raiders lead the Wildcats in almost every meaningful stat, as well as roster depth. Watch for ACU to stay close early while Texas Tech finds its shooting rhythm but the 2nd half should be lop-sided in TTUs favor. Find out where to catch all of the action below:
