Every Red Raider Basketball fan’s worst nightmare has come true. Coach Chris Beard has officially left Texas Tech for the University of Texas. The decision was made official just a while ago.
Beard coached the Red Raiders for five season, including guiding them to an Elite Eight appearance in 2018 and a Final Four in 2019. He also leaves a legacy of getting players to the NBA level, having many first and second round draft picks in his time here.
This decision stings for all of us. Not only is our beloved coach leaving, he is leaving for a in-conference opponent.
