It’s official, Assistant Mark Adams is now the head coach for The Red Raiders. Adams was the Architect of the swarming defense TTU has played over the past few seasons. Coach Adams previously coached at Howard College a junior college where he won a national championship and coach of the year in 2010.
Texas Tech chose Adams because of his vast experience and likeability among players. With 23 years of head coaching experience, over 790 games, a close to 70 percent win rate, and being a former Tech graduate made Kirby Hocutt”s decision easier. Adams also has a good eye for recruiting As he’s had 2 Juco POTYs including NBA Star Jae Crowder.
Coach Adams has been a fan favorite and well respected among many former players. On the GunsUpNation podcast I asked Justin Gray “if you had to make one shot, what coach would you not want to see defending you?”, Justin responded with Mark Adams. To add to his long list of accomplishments he also sports a 1 and 0 boxing record against Bears.
