Going into today, the Red Raiders were in contention to come away with a National Championship Appearance in Golf. They were down five strokes to Oregon State in the Albuquerque Regional Gold Tournament. All they did was blow the doors off the competition and shoot an -11 on the day to capture the Regional Title and clinch a berth to the Golf National Championship.

Texas Tech was ranked No. 22 going into the tournament and was paired with National No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 12 Arizona State. The Red Raiders were led individually by Sophomore Ludvig Alberg who shot a -4 on the day and is in contention to finish the day in the top-5 individually. Alberg shot a -9 on the tournament.

Other members on the Red Raiders were Sophomore Garrett Martin, who also shot a -4 on the day and a -6 on the tournament. Baard Skogen shot a -1 on the day and a -4 on the tournament. Kyle Hogan and Andy Lopez both finished -2 for the tournament.

Texas Tech was the only school to have every player finish in the top-20, they will be a force to be reckoned with come National Tournament time. Congrats to Coach Greg Sands and his team!

Amazing and dominant performance by the Red Raiders. I think they are making a huge statement to all the other teams at a point of time where they could very well win their first National Championship. GO TECH!
