We reached out to De’Monte Seymore to talk about his visit over the weekend. Below is our conversation:
Question: Describe your visit to me.
Seymore: My Visit was amazing felt like I was at home when I stepped on the campus.
Question: What about the Texas Tech Staff stood out to you?
Seymore: The whole coaching staff had full of energy when I went to the camp when they already camped with the little kids in the morning that made me happy knowing they love coaching and being outside helping and working with football.
Question: What are you looking for in a program?
Seymore: What I’m looking for a program is it not to be all about football but also about school because I want to get my degree and be successful on and off the field. I want the program to feel like an family atmosphere where my uncle and family feels comfortable with me being here and being safe within the program. I am looking for a program that can be with me throughout life and if I ever need any help whenever I graduate from the university I can always come back to the program and ask questions and build connections with the program as well.
Question: What would an offer from Texas Tech mean to you?
Seymore: It would mean the world to me, I would probably commit when I get the offer in person or on the phone.
Question: What other camps/ schools are you visiting this summer?
Seymore: I will be heading to Iowa State football camp on June 9th , Houston Baptist on June 15th , The University Of Arkansas on June 20th and Kansas State on July 27th.
Question: What was your favorite thing about Lubbock?
Seymore: My favorite thing about Lubbock is how everything is next to each other how the campus is next to the practice fields & Jones AT&T Stadium. I fell in love less than a day.
Question: Who is your biggest mentor?
Seymore: My Uncle Wendell he always pushes me to go harder and be better each and every day always tell me to be patient and trust the process and pray all the time.
Question: Anything else you want Red Raider Nation to know about you?
Seymore: Besides football, I was state powerlifter, I placed 6th out of 15th people in 198’s weight class. I love helping people out with all types of stuff. I run track and love to hang out with my family.
