There are 89 days until the Red Raiders take the field against the Houston Cougars. Every day, we will be highlighting a different Red Raider based on their jersey number. Today, we will be taking a look at Freshman Wideout Jerand Bradley.
At first glance, the 6’5, 210-pound Jerand Bradley easily gives off TJ Vasher vibes with his length and body structure. That frame and athletic ability should easily translate into competing for playing time this fall. The Desoto product finished the 2020 season with 784 yards and 8 touchdowns, averaging 13.8 yards per catch. But don’t let those numbers deceive you. As a junior in 2019, Bradley was TAPPS first-team All-State at Plano John Paul II High School. He finished with an impressive 1,522 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Bradley has an excellent chance to push for playing time. This was evident with his performance in the Spring game when he caught an unexpected touchdown pass from Donovan Smith. With Ezukanma still rehabbing a broken arm, Bradley will have his chance to insert himself into the rotation permanently this Fall.
Many are calling on Crabtree comparisons, which demonstrates the high hopes for the four star freshman. If Bradley can be coachable and take an early next step under OC Sonny Cumbie, he could be a breakout WR and tandem for the eventual return of Eric Ezukanma.
