Managing Editor Jacob Harris sat down with 3-Star Class of 2022 Kenwood Academy Wide Receiver Jalil Martin to talk about his recent offer from Texas Tech! Their conversation is below:
Question: Describe your recruitment to me.
Martin: My recruitment is going very well. It feels great to see all the hard work pay off.
Question: What does an offer from Texas Tech mean to you?
Martin: An offer from Texas Tech means a lot. Its a wonderful school that I’m interested in.
Question: Who has been your main contact at Texas Tech?
Martin: I have been in contact with Coach Cosgrove.
Question: What is your relationship with that coach like?
Martin: Me and Coach Cos have a great relationship.
Question: What position do you play?
Martin: I play Wide Receiver and Defensive Back.
Question: What is your biggest strength on the field?
Martin: My biggest strength on the field is my athleticism and my ability to stay poised throughout an entire game no matter what.
Question: What is something you need to work on to make your game better?
Martin: I can get better at every single part of my game there’s always room for improvement.
Question: Do you plan to visit Lubbock? If so, when?
Martin: Yes I do. Hopefully some time in the month of June.
Question: What other camps/ visits do you plan on taking this summer?
Martin: I’m more focused on visits. I plan to take visits to Michigan, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois
Question: What are you looking for in a program?
Martin: I’m looking for a program with a great coaching staff that I can have a great relationship with. I’m also looking for a great environment on and off campus. It’s also other factors that I spoke about with coaches.
Question: Who is your biggest mentor?
Martin: My Mentors are all the men in my life from my father to my coaches. They always give me knowledge and guide me through life and also the process of recruitment. I’m very grateful for all of them.
