Late last night McGuire picked up yet another Cedar Hill prospect, this time it is Three-Star 6’5 280 lb Defensive Tackle Syncere Massey giving McGuire three commits in his first day on the job.
Talk about recruits staying home! It is only fitting that McGuire, who coached at Cedar Hill for a long time and won three state championships, would bring in three guys in his first day. All of them are from Cedar Hill.
Massey is another guy Tech fans are going to love when he gets on the field. He is currently ranked the 149th defensive tackle and the 177th player in Texas.
Now Massey is another run stopper and havoc maker. He has quick hands and uses this to his advantage when getting off blocks.
Massey was formerly committed to Arizona State and also held offers from USC and LSU. He reopened his commitment after McGuire offered him, and not long after that, he decided to join his teammates Peoples and Dyson and come to Lubbock.
Massey has 29 total tackles, including 10.0 tackles for loss this season. He can get in the backfield very fast and make plays!
He has good strength to bulldoze his way through lineman and make tackles or put pressure on the quarterback.
In the Big 12, you have great running backs and great quarterbacks, so you need a very stout defense and defensive line, and Massey will bring just that!
McGuire is already building something special with these three new commits. They will all make defensive impacts right off the bat.
We can’t wait to see Massey get to Lubbock and make a name for himself here at Texas Tech!
