After another tough-fought game, the Red Raiders drop a close one to Oklahoma St 71-68. Red Raiders’ record falls to 12-12 and Conference Record to 1-10.
First Half
The Red Raiders jumped out to a 7-0 lead to start the game. Both teams traded runs the entire first half. At halftime, the Cowboys led 36-34. Bryce Thompson was red hot in the first half and finished with 21 points. Kevin Obanor led the Red Raiders with 13 points.
2nd Half
The 2nd half was a fight between both teams. Oklahoma St. seemed to find more offense inside the lane, crashing the offensive glass and getting some much-needed 2nd-chance points with Kalib Boone being a leader on that end. Jaylon Tyson and De’Vion Harmon tried to will the Red Raiders in the 2nd half with some much-needed buckets.
Harmon got to the lane with under a minute left and hit a shot to tie the game 68-68. The Cowboys held the ball during the last possession where Bryce Thompson took a tough jumper that fell short and John Michael-Wright retrieved the offensive board and scored the game-winning bucket. Jaylon Tyson finished with 20 points and De’Vion Harmon with 19 points.
Final Thoughts
As the Red Raiders continue to fight they must move on and continue to leave everything on the court and hope things come together eventually. The Red Raiders’ next 2 games are at home against nationally ranked Kansas St. Saturday and Texas on Monday. Hopefully, the Red Raiders can get their 2nd conference win Saturday to gain some major confidence going into a rivalry game against the Texas Longhorns Monday.
