The Kansas City Royals announced that Patrick Mahomes is the newest member of their ownership group making him the youngest sports owner in sports history. By the time his career is all said and done, Patrick Mahomes just might own the entire city of Kansas City. Well, maybe not, but he is well on his way.
This news is coming just a couple weeks after Mahomes became the highest-paid player in not only NFL history but American sports history by signing an extension with the Chiefs that could total upwards of over half a billion dollars ($503 million) over the 12-year duration of the contract.
Mahomes is coming off quite possibly the greatest two-year start to an NFL career. In his first season as a starter for the Chiefs, Mahomes won the MVP award and threw over 50 TD’s and was only one drive away from the Super Bowl. In his second season, he led the Chiefs to the Super Bowl for the first time in over half a century where they ended up beating the San Francisco 49ers 31-20. Mahomes was named Super Bowl MVP in the win.
Here’s the news from the man himself!
