The NFL season kicked off this weekend and it involved some great performances from players that used to don the Scarlet and Black. Here are some of the best Red Raider performances from Week One!

Patrick Mahomes II:

Stats: 24-32, 211 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT

Mahomes didn’t have to be dominant in the dominant win over the Texans last Thursday. He kept drives going and made great throws when needed. His performance really set the stage for a shot at back-to-back Super Bowls for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Danny Amendola:

Stats: 5 catches, 81 yards

Amendola had a pretty solid day out of the slot for the Lions as he had a long catch of 32 yards.

Jakeem Grant:

Stats: 3 catches, 25 yards

Grant didn’t have an amazing game, but he is still getting some targets and his role might only get larger as the season goes on.

Terrence Steele:

Steele got the start in this first NFL game and although he didn’t have an amazing outing, he held his own after being undrafted and not having a full NFL offseason.

Kerry Hyder Jr.:

Stats: 3 Solo Tackles, 1.0 sack

Hyder only played 40% of the defensive snaps but he made a solid impact on the field, earning his first sack of the season and making 3 other tackles. He will be a solid depth piece for the 49ers moving forward this season.
