2020 continues to be a great year for Patrick Mahomes, this time, he is named one of five athletes as Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year.

If you remember, 2020 started out for Mahomes by winning his first Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers in Miami just before COVID-19 really hit. During the shutdown, the Chiefs decided to open up their pocketbooks and give Mahomes the richest contract in North American sports history totally over $500 million dollars over 12 years.

It didn’t stop there with Mahomes, just a short time later it was announced that Mahomes had bought a stake in the Kansas City Royals. The details weren’t released, but Patrick becomes the youngest professional sports owner in American history.

The two most important things to happen to Mahomes this year is that he and his long-term girlfriend, Brittany, are now and engaged and expecting their first child together.

It’s been a wild ride for most people in 2020, but for Mahomes, it just seemed to keep getting better.
