Courtney Lindsey and Gabe Oladipo Lead a Solid Showing at the Big 12 Men’s Track and Field Championships

The Red Raiders had a solid showing at the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Manhattan, Kansas!

After four straight Big 12 Outdoor Championships from 2016-2019, the Texas Tech Men’s Track & Field team placed 5th in this year’s event over the weekend in Manhattan. The highlight of the weekend came in a pair of sprinting events where the Red Raiders took home bronze in the 4×100 and two members of the relay, Courtney Lindsey and Jacolby Shelton, took Gold and Silver in the 100m.

The team took home two gold medals on the weekend with discus thrower Gabe Oladipo took first place with a throw of 57.00m in his first ever Big 12 Championship meet. 

Werner Bouwer took home an individual bronze medal in the Javelin throw with a distance of 67.50m. Next up for those that qualified is the NCAA West Prelims in College Station May 26-29. The NCAA Championships are the following week in Eugene, Oregon from Wednesday, June 9th to Saturday, June 12th.
