In a year where Texas Tech had three guys with an OPS over 1.000, this was not an easy award to win, but it was easy to pick a winner. The Big 12 player of the year left no room for anyone else to garner attention for this award. Jace led the hot-hitting Red Raiders in Runs (49), RBIs (65), Home Runs (20), and finally OPS (1.262).

All the evidence needed to prove that Jace deserves this award is in the tweet above and the Tweet below but we can dive deeper for this not just being a highlight reel. As well as leading the team in a lot of offensive categories, Jace has reached base in every single game this year. Make no mistake plate discipline is Jace’s strong suit, he got a walk (or HBP) in 49 (team leader) of his 224 Plate appearances. Watch for Jace Jung’s dominance to be a difference-maker in the postseason for Texas Tech.
