There are 94 days until the Red Raiders take the field against the Houston Cougars. Every day, we will be highlighting a different Red Raider based on their jersey number. Today, we will be taking a look at defensive lineman Tre’Jon Lewis.
Tre’Jon Lewis is coming into this upcoming season as a sophomore. Lewis went to Manor High School and originally signed with UTEP in 2019, but shortly after de-committed and enrolled as a Red Raider. In his first season with the Red Raiders, Lewis did not play and redshirted. In 2020, his redshirt freshman season, he saw action in two games. The first being the Big 12 opener against Texas, and then Kansas State, and was a member of the dress roster the remainder of the season.
Lewis saw action on the field mainly in special teams, but was also used as a backup on the defensive line as a defensive end. Lewis has the potential to be a key member of the Red Raider’s football tea going into his sophomore year. He has had experience on special teams and is used in the defensive line. His versatility being able to be used in both positions, helps him potentionally see the field more this season.
