There are 64 days until the Red Raiders take the field against the Houston Cougars. Every day, we will be highlighting a different Red Raider based on their jersey number. Today, we will be taking a look at Offensive Lineman Clayton Franks.
Franks is going into his fourth season as a Red Raider. He hasn’t seen that much playing time as a Red Raider but that could change soon as the offensive line needs as many rotational players as possible. Franks has experience in this system and has been a Red Raider since 2018. He was a three-star prospect and chose Tech over New Mexico and North Texas.
While he has only appeared in three games over his career, Franks has been a piece of the practice team and the travel squad the last two seasons. Going into 2021, Franks will provide solid depth on the interior of the offensive line behind guys such as Dawson Deaton, Weston Wright, and Josh Burger. At 6’4″, Franks has good size for the positions and could be relied on as a backup this season.
