There are 63 days until the Red Raiders take the field against the Houston Cougars. Every day, we will be highlighting a different Red Raider based on their jersey number. Today, we will be taking a look at Offensive Lineman, Aaron Castro.
Aaron Castro will be going into his sophomore season during the 2021 year. Castro did not see any game action during the 2019 or 2020 season. He saw action primarily on the scout team. During the 2020 season though, he was a member of the dress roster several times.
Castro was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and went to high school in Hutto, Texas just outside of Georgetown and Round Rock. During his time at Hutto HS, Castro was named to the first team All-District squad. Aaron Castro’s work on the offensive line did not allow a sack during the regular season, and they also advanced to the third round of the state playoffs. Castro was a huge part of pushing Hutto to an 11-1 record his senior season.
Texas Tech Football offered Castro in February 2019, and just a day after his offer he committed to Texas Tech. Although our offensive line does run deep, Castro could potentially see the field and playing time some this season and more the next.
