Newcomer Profile: Lana Wenger

One of three members of the 2020 recruiting class, Wenger brings her talents from Futures Academy in Walnut Creek, California to the plains of Lubbock, Texas.

Potential Crowd favorite?

Wenger projects to play the four for the Lady Raiders. Here is what Head Coach Krista Gerlich had to say about Wenger when the recruiting class was announced:

Lana is an athletic stretch four that can run the floor and rebound the basketball. She has great footwork and guard skills that will make her hard to defend from the high post. Lana’s personality is infectious and will instantly be a crowd favorite. I love how hard she plays.

While Wenger is going to play at the four, she also has shown a solid shot from the outside. She also has a great presence of the defensive side of the ball. Her sophomore year, Wenger averaged 13.8 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.6 steals per game. Lady Raider fans should be excited to have versatile player joining the team for this season.
