Three Players to Watch

Sonya Morris

Morris has been the Longhorns’ main outside shooter this season. She’s attempted 120 three pointers and makes at a 38% clip. She averages 12.1 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. Moore is adept at finding open areas along the perimeter and chasing her into dribble drives and into the paint will be crucial for the Lady Raiders tonight.

DeYona Gaston

Gaston has asserted herself as the main post threat for Texas. At 6’2″, she leads the Longhorns in scoring and is their second leading rebounder. In addition, she is undoubtedly their best inside scoring threat, as she never really drifts outside of the paint. Gastson averages 12.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block per game. Doubling her in the paint and stretching her defensively will help the Lady Raiders tonight.

Rori Harmon

Harmon, the cousin of Texas Tech Red Raider De’Vion Harmon, is the engine that makes the Longhorn offense go. In addition to being lightning-quick with the ball, Harmon is the best passer on the team and leads the Longhorns in assists. She averages 11.4 points, 5 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per ball game. She carved up the Lady Raider defense last time out, dishing out nine assists. Speeding her up into traps and bad passes will go a long way.

The Lady Raiders look for their first sweep of Texas in a decade.
