Patrick Mahomes’ Steller Performance Leads This Week’s Red Raiders in the NFL

Every week we will be highlighting some former Red Raiders who showed out in the NFL that weekend, and we start off this series with Week 1.

Patrick Mahomes II, Quarterback– Kansas City Chiefs

Mahomes came out and proved why he is one of the best if not the best quarterback in the league after his Sunday performance and a win over the Cleveland Browns 33-29.

On Sunday, Mahomes passed Kurt Warner for Most Passing Touchdowns in NFL History Through First 50 Games, and he only did it in 47!!

Mahomes finished the game going 27-36 passing with 337 yards and three touchdowns. He finished with a QB Rating of 131.4.

Mahomes also finished the game with 18 yards rushing and one touchdown. So, he had 4 total touchdowns Sunday.

Jordyn Brooks, Linebacker– Seattle Seahawks

Brooks is off to a good start in his second year in the league, after he finished with 11 tackles, 7 solo on Sunday in Seattle’s over Indianapolis 28-16.

He only had 57 total tackles last year, so this is certainly the kind of start he wanted.

Danny Amendola, Wide Receiver– Houston Texans

After being picked up by the Texans last Tuesday, he made his impact early in their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars 37-21.

He finished the game with 5 receptions 34 yards and one touchdown.

Sam Eguavoen, Linebacker– Miami Dolphins

Eguavoen also got a nice start to his 2021 campaign as he his coming into his third year as he finished with 6 total tackles, two solo, and three QB hits.

The Dolphins would go to beat the New England Patriots in Foxborough 17-16.
