What Cardenas Brings to the Red Raiders
Cardenas is arguably one of the most explosive carriers of the football in the State of Texas. This past season, he carried the ball 108 times and totaled over 1000 yards rushing, averaging nearly 10 yards per carry. He is also a good receiver out of the backfield as Cardenas caught 20 passes for 330 yards. Over his two year varsity career, he’s totaled over 2800 total yards and 33 touchdowns.
He is a great fit for the Air Raid-adjacent offense that Zach Kittley runs. early on in his career, Cardenas could find himself in a 3rd down passing back-type role for the Red Raiders. He can run between the tackles and has great vision for his age.
Cardenas possesses elite speed as well, running a 4.4 40-yard dash.
