An official announcement was made this morning, the Texas Tech Men’s Basketball program officially has a new leader. Fresh off of an NIT Championship with UNT, Grant McCasland will take the reigns of the program and lead it for the foreseeable future.
McCasland has a sustained track record of success, securing 20 wins in all of his season as a head coach but one, the shortened 2020-2021 season where he led his team past Purdue in the NCAA Tournament. At the Division One level, McCasland has 155 wins in just 7 seasons as a head coach.
He will bring the defense-first mindset that Texas Tech fans are used to back to Lubbock.
Welcome to Lubbock, Coach McCasland!
