There are 75 days until the Red Raiders take the field against the Houston Cougars. Every day, we will be highlighting a different Red Raider based on their jersey number. Today, we will be taking a look at Offensive Lineman, Larry Moore.
Moore is going into his second year, a redshirt freshman for the Red Raiders. Although we did not see him on the field in 2020, I believe we could start seeing more of him this upcoming season and more the following seasons.
Back in September 2020, Texas Tech released their first official depth chart, and Moore, as a true freshman had already appeared on it. I think we may see more rotation with Moore in it.
Prior to coming to Texas Tech, Moore was the starting right tackle for Fort Bend Marshall. He played in the 2019 Texas Class 5A Division II State Championship. In 2018, the Buffaloes had ended their season 15-1 after falling short to Aledo. Moore was a key player as a right tackle for Fort Bend Marshall. He saw lots of action on the field in high school.
Larry Moore had offers from Georgia Tech, Houston, Kansas, Oklahoma State, SMU, Tulane, Tulsa, Utah State, UTSA, and seven other schools including Texas Tech. Moore chose to come to play at Texas Tech. A lot of the reasoning we haven’t seen Moore play yet, is because the rotation has been deep but as the seasons go by, Moore will be able to see that rotation on the field and in the future as a starter.
