A new face to the Lady Raiders women’s basketball team is Chantae Embry! Embry was known as one of the top recruits in the country by numerous outlets. Embry was rated a four-star athlete in high school and was ranked #67 overall and the #14 forward according to ESPN.

Before Texas Tech

Embry joins the Lady Raiders after finishing an impressive senior season at Norman High School. Embry, as a senior, averaged 12.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game. She also led Norman to the 6A state championship with a perfect 19-0 record.

In her junior year at Normas HS, she averaged 16.8 points and 8.9 rebounds, leading Norman HS to a 24-1 record. She also led them to championships at the conference, district, regional, and area; while also earning a national top 25 ranking in the EPSNW poll!

As a freshman, Embry played at Prague High School and averaged 23 points and 13.1 rebounds. She helped lead Prague HS to both the district and regional championships and advanced to the first round of state.

Awards and Honors

Embry earned the Suddenlink First Team All-State honors by Max Preps, All-City Second Team, and made the All-Tournament Teams at the Joe Lawson Invitational and 2020 Titan Classic.

While playing at Prague HS, she received numerous honors. These honors included conference MVP, All-Star Preps Star Player of the Year, Second Team All-USA Oklahoma Girls Basketball Team, and Vype Class 3A First Team.

I am ready to see Embry add versatility, the ability to finish plays in traffic, and her physical talent to the Lady Raiders basketball team.
