Red Raider soccer had their second travel week of the season. This week, the team traveled to Iowa to take on Iowa State and then to Morgantown to take on West Virginia.

In the first game against the Cyclones, the Red Raiders were locked into a battle until the very end. Iowa State was able to score first with a goal coming right of halftime at the 48th minute. It took a while for the Red Raiders to respond, but finally, in the 73rd minute, Charlotte Teeter assisted Kirsten Davis on a goal that tied things up at 1-1. Runs were constant as the game was coming to a close but the Red Raiders were finally able to end it at the 85th minute with a goal by Gisselle Kozarski assisted by teammate Macy Blackburn. The game ended 2-1.

In the second game against the 21st-Ranked West Virginia Mountaineers, the Red Raiders were on the end of great defensive play. Again no team was able to find the goal in the first half so they were both relying on great halftime speeches and adjustments. West Virginia struck first out of halftime at the 70th-minute. The Red Raiders were unable to respond for the rest of the game while the Mountaineers scores one last time making the final score 0-2.

The Red Raiders are back in action for their second to last week of conference play until the BIG 12 Championship in Round Rock, Texas. They play their only game of the week on Friday (Oct. 22) against the Kansas Jayhawks at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
