Texas Tech and Coach McGuire Get Their Second Commit For Class of 2023

Photo CC: Kaden Carr

Last night the Red Raiders landed yet another commit, their second one in the Class of 2023 and it is 3-Star offensive lineman Kaden Carr from Amarillo High.

Carr will join Isaiah Crawford who committed a few days ago as the first two recruits for the Class of 2023 and Texas Tech certainly got a mauler of an offensive lineman in Carr.

At 6’5″ and 300 pounds, he is an absolute force on the offensive line. He uses his strength and quickness to make gaps in the middle of the defense and demolish his blocks.

Just watch Carr on this play drive the defensive lineman entirely out of the gap and into the ground. You can not teach strength and size and that is what Carr will add to the Red Raiders.

He is currently the 28th overall interior lineman and the 74th player in the state of Texas and the 407th best player in the country.

Carr has excellent footwork and hands to swat down defenders and when he needs to set the edge.

He has an impressive pass pro set for being his size, and I stated before his strength is what makes him so good and with the right coach could be an immediate impact player on the offensive line for years to come.

Carr had nine other offers from schools including Arizona State, Houston, Oregon, and SMU, but chose to stay home and play for Texas Tech.

With this commitment, McGuire already has the 12th best-recruiting class in the nation for 2023 and it just getting started.

It is also good to point out that Carr’s brother Tyler played for the Red Raiders from 2017-19 as a tight end.

Red Raider nation should be ecstatic to get this guy to Lubbock and see the potential he has to be an impact player for the Red Raiders!
