This week, the Red Raiders were looking to capitalize on their hot preseason start with back-to-back wins in conference play. The Red Raiders took on Oklahoma and Kansas State in two home matches in where the fans came out and showed their support of their Red Raiders.

In Thursday’s game versus the Oklahoma Sooners, the Red Raiders came out hot with a 7-0 victory. The game was kicked off by an early goal by Macy Schultz, assisted by Madison White, at the five-minute mark. It didn’t take long for Kirsten Davis to get going, with her scoring three consecutive goals in the seven, 19, and 32-minute marker. Her goal in the 19 minutes was assisted by teammate Cassandra Hiatt and her other goal in the 32-minute was assisted by Macy Blackburn. The first half wrapped up with a 4-0 lead for the Red Raiders. The second half opened and ended with three outstanding goals by Hannah Anderson, Ashleigh Williams, and Hailey Palmer. The game concluded with a 7-0 victory and Kirsten Davis joins fellow teammate Ashleigh Williams as the only two with hat tricks on the season.

In Sunday’s game versus the Kansas State Wildcats, the Red Raiders put on yet another strong defensive performance winning the game 2-0. This is three consecutive games that the Red Raider defense has held their opponent scoreless. The only two goals scored by Texas Tech were a first-half goal by Kirsten Davis and another first-half goal by Ashleigh Williams. Next week, Texas Tech has to travel to Waco to take on the Baylor Bears on Thursday and will be in Austin on Sunday to beat the Longhorns. Hopefully, our soccer team has better luck than our football team. Wreck Em!
